About Us The Kitsap Soap Box Derby Association holds a Local Championship race each June in Poulsbo. The winner of a Local Race is called a “Local Champion” and is eligible to compete in the AASBD World Championship in Akron, Ohio against other Local Champions.We race on Dauntless Drive in Poulsbo, WA, located just below Olympic College’s Poulsbo campus at the corner of Olympic College Way and Dauntless Drive. From Hwy 3, follow the signs to Olympic College and look for our Soap Box Derby turnout and fans! Our track makes a full sweeping left-hand turn. Although it’s not the fastest track in the Region, our street track is technically more challenging for racers to find the fastest line! Free from traffic, Dauntless Drive is a safe place to view the races. Please park in the designated field at the top of the hill. Many thanks to the City of Poulsbo, CenturyLink, and Marine View Beverage for allowing us to shut down the street five weekends a year for this fun, family-oriented community event. These racing districts conduct sanctioned Soap Box Derby races throughout the year and qualify champs for the annual FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby® World Championship race at the world famous Derby Downs Track in Akron, Ohio. The Derby's Education Program is a fast-growing component of the organization and includes a STEM-Based Curriculum, the Gravity Racing Challenge® STEM Team Competition and a Mini Soap Box Derby program. The Derby also operates the world famous Derby Downs Track in Akron, Ohio where events are held throughout the racing season. The Board of Directors oversees the operation of the Derby, and the day-to-day activities are handled by the Headquarters staff in Akron.
