The Flint Soap Box Derby is an entertraining, energetic, and collaborative community event that has a cherished legacy across the Greater Flint Area. But primarily, the Flint Soap Box Derby is an educational and athletic pursuit for local youth!

When is the Flint Soap Box Derby?

Saturday, June 6th, 2020.

Where is the race?

This year, the local race will be held on Chevrolet Avenue between University Avenue and Glenwood Avenue - commonly known as Chevy Commons.

Chevy Commons is a historical landmark that provides a meaningful race venue while we make needed improvements to the permanent track at Cronin Derby Downs.

How can I participate?

Just sign up! 

What if I don't have a car?

We will help connect you with potential sponsors, and participants will be able to race in the Stock and Super Stock Divisions!

What I don't know how to assemble a car?

We'll help you! The Flint Soap Box Derby will host vehicle assembly workshops in April and May 2019 for registrered participants that would like to learn how to assemble their own cars!
