Carver Ron Reed had preserved the legacy of 70 years of Soap Box Derby racing by creating miniature models of the top finishing car in every All-American event throughout its history. Since 1969, he has produced more than 400 replicas, many of which are on display at Derby Downs. An avid collector, Ron also had more than 40,000 Soap Box Derby photographs. He attended his 57th All-American race since 1949.
