Marty Sullivan’s involvement in the Soap Box Derby dates back to 1960, when he first raced locally in New Hampshire. He won that race in 1964, and competed in the All-American Soap Box Derby representing New Hampshire. For more than 40 years, Marty Sullivan has been a passionate volunteer on the local, regional and national levels. He has promoted the growth of Soap Box Derby racing in the Northeast as a regional director since 1989, and also has served as president of his local organization and as an All-American inspector. Hundreds of boys and girls have been able to experience the thrills and benefits of Soap Box Derby racing because of Marty Sullivan’s decades of dedicated service to the youth program.
