Jack Morran was a contestant in the Akron Local Soap Box Derby in 1940 and 1941. He began volunteering in 1950 as a local track worker. He later served the Akron Local and All-American Soap Box Derby as an inspector and the Derby program’s chief inspector in the mid-70s. Jack Morran helped develop the program’s original Kit Car division.
