Jack Engelke

Jack Engelke’s long-time association with the Soap Box Derby began when he raced as a youngster in Milwaukee in 1955. Years later, he was instrumental in establishing the Greater Chicago Soap Box Derby, where he has held a variety of local race volunteer posts. He has served as a regional director and helped develop the Stock Car in 1991. He helped organize the All-American Soap Box Derby Rally Program, and served as its commissioner for 11 years beginning in 1995 during a period of tremendous growth in the number of participants. Jack Engelke has been a member of the All-American Soap Box Derby board of directors since 1995, has served as the board’s treasurer and is its current secretary.
