Bob McLaughlin a counselor at Camp Y-Noah in 1961, home of the local champions visiting Akron for the All-American Soap Box Derby. He volunteered in variety of roles with the youth racing program for the next 46 years. He served as assistant director of champion activities for 37 years and joined the board of directors in 1995. Bob served as chairman of the board from 2004 until his untimely death in March 2007. His passion for the Soap Box Derby was driven by his desire to have a positive influence on the young lives of the competing champions.
