Bill Harris

Bill Harris has dedicated more than 40 years of volunteer service to make certain that Soap Box Derby champions, their families, dignitaries, program sponsors and other visitors are where they need to be throughout the Akron area during Race Week. He began as a courtesy car driver in 1966, became assistant transportation crew chief in the late 1980s and since 2005, Bill Harris has been director of transportation. His greatest reward comes from the appreciative smiles and thanks directed at the transportation crews from racers and their families.
