Bill Ford’s dedication to the Soap Box Derby began as an Akron local competitor and continued throughout his lifetime as a Derby father, local inspector, and as a member and chairman of the All-American Soap Box Derby’s National Control Board. He devoted considerable effort to teaching basic construction skills to three generations of Derby youth.
