Hall of Fame Nomination
Nominations will be accepted through May 17, 2024
The Soap Box Derby Hall of Fame was established in 1997 to honor individuals who have made exemplary contributions to the Soap Box Derby by promoting the betterment of the sport and its participants or by enhancing the youth racing program through significant financial or sponsorship support.
To be considered for induction into the Soap Box Derby Hall of Fame, candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- The candidate has made a meaningful leadership contribution as a volunteer for a local race organization or the All-American Soap Box Derby for a minimum of 20 years.
- The candidate is a sponsor, individual, company or organization that has contributed significant financial support or meritorious contributions to the Soap Box Derby organization.
- The candidate is a former racer who has participated in a sanctioned local race of the All-American Soap Box Derby at least 10 years ago.
- The candidate has been a staff member of International Soap Box Derby, Inc. in Akron for a minimum of 10 years.
- If a candidate has contributed significant leadership or financial support to the organization but dies before meeting the required years of service, the Hall of Fame Committee shall have the option to waive the length of service requirement, provided that two or more years have passed since the nominee’s death.
Nominations will be reviewed for accuracy and compliance by the ISBD staff. Complete nominations will be sent to the Nomination Committee for review of the value of the nominee’s contribution(s) to the International Soap Box Derby.
Your nomination submission is the primary tool used to determine the merits of each nominee for induction into the Soap Box Derby Hall of Fame. Please refrain from sending petitions, photos, books, etc. If additional materials are required, the ISBD will contact you.
